Where yo be??!

Hello everyone!!

Oh my gosh, it feels like ages since I last blogged! I’ve just been so busy at the moment (work, moving house, you know the drill) and I haven’t been well (more on that another day) and so I feel time really has run away with me!

I’ve found myself with a spare five minutes, and so I thought I’d come and have a look at how my blog was going! A few of you seemed to like my ‘Bank Holiday Book Binge’ recommendations, and I’ve been wondering how you’ve been getting on with them? Please do leave your reviews in the comments (and again, recommendations are ALWAYS welcomed!)

When I started this blog last month, I didn’t really have a particular aim or focus in mind. However, I’ve done a lot of thinking recently (you tend to have a lot of time to do that when you’re ill!) and I’ve decided on two ‘directions’ in which I wish to go:

1. A monthly book recommendation post, and an ongoing story (I’m thinking I’ll post a new chapter every two weeks!)

2. An update on how my art is going, e.g latest projects (I’m particularly interested in fashion design at the moment) and perhaps a couple how to tutorials!

Let me know what you think, and feel free to give me a few ideas or some criticism (constructive criticism is always welcomed, the key word being constructive!!)

Anyway, my time is now up, and so I must get back to working and running errands!
Have a lovely weekend,

Love, Charlotte Xx

Bank Holiday Weekend…

Lovely blog post, lovely blogger! 🙂

Vintage Reflection

IMG_7726IMG_7721A couple of weekends ago (while it was still lovely and warm – I don’t like this current cold snap were having!) I had a lovely saturday helping my dear friend Sherelle set up her blog, why not pop over and show her some love! In return for taking her outfit photos Sherelle kindly took some of me. It had been a nice a sunny week in London but the wind was blowing up a storm but thankfully we were able to get some snaps without my hair blowing all over the place – it was tricky! I’m wearing this long kimono from Quiz Clothing (kimonos are my jam and I’m wearing them lots, especially long lined versions) teaming it with simple skinny jeans and as it’s finally sandals weather I dusted off these old beauts from Office. I’m also sporting some rather dashing new sunnies, I won these beautiful Ray-Bans…

Bank Holiday Book Binge!

Hello everyone!

Recently, the weather has turned rather dismal (rather like my mood!) and so I’ve found myself with plenty of time on my hands! A constant endurer of the rainy weather Britain has on offer, I find times like these call for only one thing- a good old book!

I’ve made a list of my top 5 current reads, in hope that someone, somewhere will make good use of my recommendations!

  1. The White Queen- Philippa Gregory
  2. I Capture the Castle- Dodie Smith
  3. Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry- Mildred D. Taylor
  4. We Were Liars- E. Lockhart (an easy read, but good nonetheless)
  5. To Kill a Mockingbird- Harper Lee

There’s quite a variety of genres in my list to keep you going! ‘The White Queen’ and ‘I Capture The Castle’ are both historical romances, but still quite easy going (ICTC is definitely aimed at younger readers.) ‘Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry’ is heart wrenching (I’m warning you now!) but a fantastic piece of literature! ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ is of course a classic, and similar to ROTHMC in terms of culture and American history. Both are worth a read! As for ‘We Were Liars’, beware of the ending- it will leave you traumatised, frustrated and possibly even doubting your own existence!

I know the synopsis’ were brief, but I’m keen not to give anything away! Feel free to discuss the books in the comments (any other recommendations would be highly appreciated!)

Just a quick note before I go. Would a ‘monthly book’ be something of interest to anyone out there? Perhaps a book that a couple of people (or whoever wanted to) could all read and then discuss on one another’s blogs!? Let me know (please email me for enquiries regarding my blog on acharlottething@gmail.com)

First of all, let me introduce myself! My name is Charlotte and I live in the UK. I love writing, reading and art (specifically design) and have been thinking about getting a blog for a long time.

I’m not expecting anyone to read this, but I’d like to use it as a platform for the little bits and bobs that clutter up my mind 🙂 Whether that’s in the form of book reviews, art project posts, or even simply updates on day-to-day life, I don’t really know! Let’s just go with the flow!

P.S. I don’t do commitment, so I can’t promise a daily or weekly blog update! I think it’s going to be more of a ‘when I feel like it’ situation!
